As this blog will grow, I aims to harness the power of social media and utilize this platform to empower women & men, and contribute in some way to the community.
Several years ago I was fortunate to work on a video produced for the National Domestic Violence Hotline, that has opened my eyes to the extent of the problem. One in every four women is a victim of domestic violence, and she may be your sister, daughter, friend or neighbor. Each year, women experience about 4.8 million intimate partner related physical assaults. Most often these assaults are not isolated, but instead continue and every day in the US more than 3 women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends.
AWARENESS IS KEY.
Each time a domestic violence story is shared, there's an opportunity to save lives. Let's use the power of our social media and send a message to unlock the voices of victims, raising awareness about a cause that is often hidden from the public eye.

The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available to callers 24 hours a day, answering questions, providing safety planning and information as well as directly connect callers to domestic violence resources available in their local calling area. They work with callers to build safer families and homes. They help survivors build back their self-esteem after it’s been worn down from years of verbal abuse.
